Waxing

How do I prepare for a Brazilian Wax?

Your hair should be grown out at least two to three weeks prior to your first Brazilian Wax, 1/4 of an inch is best. It is a good idea to exfoliate your bikini area the night before. Take your choice of a pain reliever one hour before your visit for maximum comfort.

How long does waxing last?

It differs with each person depending on how fast the hair grows. On average, your waxing can last from 2-5 weeks. The more you wax, the longer it lasts and the hair will actually grow back lighter & softer. It will take 3 treatments to notice a change in how fast your hair grows back.Routine waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and may minimize irritation. Keep your scheduled maintenance appointment every 4 weeks.

Will I have a reaction to waxing?

Most likely not, but that largely depends on whether you are taking any medications. Some women find that when they are on their period, their skin is more sensitive, others are just fine. I do invite you to come in and get a free patch test wax to see how your skin will react.  If you taking Rx Accutane, Differin, Retin A, Antibiotics or taking any medications that cause sun sensitivity. You should also avoid waxing while using salicylic acid, glycolic acid or facial peels. These products thin out the skin and will make you more sensitive.

What is the post-care for waxing?

Avoid the sun immediately after waxing & wear sun screen. Avoid saunas, steam rooms and whirlpools for at least 48 hours. Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24 hours. Do not use exfoliating products & loofahs for 24 hours. Avoid tight clothing, tight clothing may result in irritation & ingrown hairs. No hot baths, showers or sexual activity for 10 hours after a Brazilian. While your pours are open they are vulnerable to irritation by extreme temperatures and infection by bacteria.
